About

Karis Zidore (she/her) is a choreographer, dancer and composer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her artistic practice takes shapes between body, sound and voice. With an interest in the erratic as aesthetic, through evershifting states, emotions and images her pieces are loading, cinematic and teasing. 

With the moniker Gel she has released abrupt and inconsistent dance music since 2018 through labels such as Kulør, Petrola80 and Escho. She has performed at Alice KBH, Copenhagen Contemporary, Fylkingen, a.o.

She has collaborated with a.o. choreographers Olivia Riviere, Emilie Gregersen, Naya Moll, Emilia Gasiorek and Lisen Pousette. Her works have been presented at Dansehallerne, Copenhagen Contemporary, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Momentum, Det Frie Felt Festival a.o.

Karis Zidore is a co-founding member of the community and venue Danseatelier in Copenhagen. 

She has been invited to residencies at HAUT, The Danish Institute in Athens, Lunga in Seydisfjördur, Bikuben/HAUT pop-up residency, a.o.
